The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is the staff agency of the Judicial Council, which has policymaking authority over the state court system. Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye serves as chair of the Judicial Council. Under the direction of the Chief Justice and the council, the AOC serves the courts and the public by advancing excellence, leadership, and service in the administration of justice. The AOC Center for Families, Children & the Courts (CFCC) works specifically to improve the quality of justice and services to meet the diverse needs of families, youth, children, and self-represented litigants in the California courts.
